5 Best Ways to Remove Dust in Your House

Dust is every house’s worst enemy. It accumulates in all the places you don’t expect and it is nearly impossible to remove without a proper vacuum. It could fill up your air, worsen allergies, cause annoying sounds when you walk on wood floors, or ruin your electronics.

For the most part, it is invisible and can be hard to see until you step back and view the room in its entirety. In this article, I’m going to share some ways to remove dust from your house.

  1. Vacuum. It’s a given that you need a vacuum for dust removal. My favorite vacuums for dusting are Shark Rotator Professional Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Dusting Brush (HT-1500) and Dyson Animal Bagless Stick Vacuum Cleaner. I like both of these because they are very powerful and able to pick up pet hair well. The only downside of using these vacuums is that they may use up too much energy while they’re running. I suggest using them on low power if you do not want to run your electricity bill up.

If you need a vacuum that is pet friendly, I suggest the Bissell Big Green Clean Corded Handheld Vacuum. I have this vacuum and it does a fantastic job at cleaning pet hair from carpet. This vacuum features cyclonic filtration to keep your home fresh and clean. Another great thing about this vacuum is that it has a 20 ft. cord which can reach most areas of your home comfortably. The only downside of this vacuum is that it also uses quite a bit of energy while it’s running, so I suggest using it on the lowest power setting whenever possible.

  1. Swipe. Pets will always leave hair behind wherever they go. If your dog likes to try and “join the pack” then you may have to vacuum the upholstery on your couch. This is where a vacuum pillow comes in handy. The pillow slides under furniture, raises up on its own, and crushes pet hair as it passes over it. I recommend the Dyson V8 Absolute Cord/Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. It’s lightweight, ultra-quiet, and has an LED indicator so you know when it’s full.

  1. Use a Dustbuster. I have a dustbuster at almost every house I visit and use it all the time if needed. Whenever I find a place that needs dusting, I use the dustbuster to clean it up. It’s perfect for small tasks and can do wonders in tight spaces. You can find one at any store for about $20.

  1. Clean up Pet Hair. I love having pets because they are always there when you need something to cuddle with, but sometimes, there’s a lot of pet hair that needs to be cleaned off of clothes, furniture, and other surfaces. Try using a lint roller or adhesive tape to remove the hair from your pet before letting them into the house again so you don’t have as much cleaning to do later on.

  1. Dust your Electronics. Dust can cover the lenses of your electronic devices and cause them to not work correctly. If you notice that your cell phone camera isn’t focusing correctly or your tablet isn’t turning on, then it’s because it has become too dusty. It’s important to take off any visible dust from electronics with a vacuum or a brush.

Bottom line

You can remove dust from your home easily, but it will take some effort. With the tips and tricks mentioned in this article, you should be able to clean up well without any expense. Don’t let dust get the best of your house!
